Here we go Tarheels here we go!!!

Whooooo Hooooo!!! It is that time of year again...that most UNC fans don't get excited about...but IT'S FOOTBALL SEASON!!! And I am so excited! And I am even more excited that when sitting in the waiting area hoping and wishing that Pearl was gonna make it, I heard the glorious words of one of the ESPN announcers..."UNC is underrated this year." WHAT? REALLY? Awesome. Maybe we will win more games than we lose this year, but there is honestly only one thing I want our boys to accomplish...and that is to beat the ass of the whack Pack.

They say in life that you should have no regrets...and although I like to say that I don't, I would be lying to you. There is always one regret that resurfaces every year around this time. And that is that I did not go to a school with a football team. Yeah UNCW had the beach, but I was also born and raised in Wilmington so it was no big thing and yeah we had Brett Blizzard almost take us to the Sweet 16...but we had no football team. Therefore no football players. No football stadium. No tailgating. No homecoming. Well there was homecoming, but it was during basketball season and it was extremely lame.

Thankfully, after I graduated, I moved to Chapel Hill where I got to experience my first real football game, even if the Heels were no good. We woke up super early on a Saturday, dressed in our favorite UNC gear, to start the day right by drinking ice cold beer and eating some tasty sides (because I don't eat the meat you know). And when it was about game time, we walked up to Kenan, me hiding all the liquor bottles in my bra, pouring drinks once inside the stadium, eating popcorn, cheering like crazy, high fiving the people around us and then returning to the tailgate afterwards to start it all over again once the game was over...or half time. And I have been hooked ever since. Not just on the tailgating, but on the game as well...even if we did lose just about every time.

So thanks to that experience, and the many that have followed, I declare that no college career is complete without a football team and tailgating. I am serious. And if you are/were unlucky like me, I have a great team in mind for you to support. So in honor of the Heels, football, and tailgating, cheers to all the other Carolina fans out there, especially those proudly wearing the prettiest color ever created for College Colors Day...like all of us at my work.
