Anyway, the following couple of days after hearing the news were just zombie like for me. I would get out of the house to go to the cafe to use the Internet, but nothing was really clicking nor did I really even give a damn. So it was a relief that Jenn did not have to work that Friday and had wanted to go the mountains to see the leaves changing...come to find out, we were a little late...oh well.
It was nice not to sit around all day, but special at the same time that I was going to the mountains because Granny had always loved the mountains. So what better way to spend the day of her memorial than by being in the Rockies. We drove through Fairplay and Alma, where Southpark is based on, and ate at a little restaurant called the Brown Burro.
I had the cheese enchilada platter and it was quite yummy. I guess Colorado is known for its green chile sauce of sorts (still not sure why), but it was on there and I ate it. And it was good, but still unsure about the hype of it all. My favorite part of this little place was a map on the wall for its customers to use a push pin to mark where they are from. Someone had already poked Wilmington and I am going to guess that it was Kerri, so I didn't feel the need to make my mark.
Anyway, we continued our trek to Breckenridge, which is perhaps the cutest dang town I have even seen in my whole life. Gosh so cute! (I cant wait to go skiing there this winter!) But rather than stopping through (when you don't have a job, you don't have any money so shopping would be no fun), we continued our trek through more mountains, or maybe down the mountains, hell maybe even up some mountains, who knows...but I looked to my right and there was this gorgeous scenery...a lake of sorts with sailboats in the water with the mountains resting behind it. I just knew that these were the pictures I had been wanting to take all day. So I made Jenn stop the car, park it in a very random parking lot, which meant we had to jump through fences just for my perfect photo opp.
I will let the pictures do the talking because my words could definitely not do them justice...
